Website development.
All our websites are developed to W3C standards to comply with accessibility for disabled viewers and to make sure they are visible in all modern compliant browsers. If you wish your site to be viewed on handheld devices and on mobile phones, we can also provide this facility.
Search engine submission is also included as standard.
Please Note: Search engines can take several weeks to list a submitted website. In some cases the search engines may not list the website at all depending on the content. This is beyond the control of any developer.
Prominence in any search engine cannot be guaranteed due to the large number of factors this is dependent on.
All sites are designed in a search engine friendly manner and make appropriate use of key words specified by the client.
We as a company do not provide SEO (search engine optimisation) services, but can suggest companies that do specialise in these services, but please be aware that SEO can be expensive.
A 25% deposit would be required on acceptance of our quote and the balance would be required within 30 days of receipt of our invoice on completion of the site.
Hosting.
To be visible on the Internet sites must be "hosted". This can be on space on a server provided by your ISP (Internet Service Provider) or space on a server provided by a design or hosting company. Some ISP's don't offer hosting space on their servers, and if they do it is usually limited in it's use.
We offer hosting on Unix or Windows 2000 platforms which includes a cgi-bin, PHP, MySQL and e-mail forwarding as standard. ASP, Coldfusion, secure servers and frontpage extensions are also available.
Domain name registration.
We offer the registration of all the following domain names for business or personal use:-
- .co.uk - for UK based websites only.
- .com - for general and world-wide use.
- .org.uk - for use by non-profit organisations.
- .me.uk - for personal use by individuals.
- .ltd.uk - for UK limited companies, the domain name and the registered company name must be the same.
- .plc.uk - for UK plc company use, the domain name and the registered company name must be the same.
- .org - as for org.uk but for world-wide use.
- .net - usually for use by ISP's.
- .biz - often used as an alternative to .com
- .tv - originally the domain of Tuvalu, a tiny Pacific Island, but now used by television companies and domains associated with television programmes.
- .eu - european domain name
